Barry Whale Does A BIG Splash

I wanted to paint the first Barry Whale, but was scared of ruining it, so I knocked out a second 5 min test Illustration last night.

When I proudly showed Daughter #1 my efforts this morning, she loved the test image (because Barry Whale was doing a big splash) and barely noticed the one I took ages doing. Typical.

So I had a bash painting it with Watercolours and white acrylic highlights. Nice to be flexing the artistic muscles again, I’m enjoying it. Got more plans in the pipeline.

Barry Whale

Meet Barry Whale.

Barry-Whale

Barry Whale joined us one night at my daughter’s bath time. Barry Whale likes Jam Cake and small girls with clean teeth.

Barry Whale lives in the ocean, but is also a space whale. He likes lasers and going to parties with his friends Oswald Octopus, Jerry Shark, Gerald Jellyfish and Robby the Rock Lobster.

Where did the time go?

Blimey, haven’t posted on here in ages. Massive geeking has returned after an extended hiatus.

I stopped doing this masochistic exercise in Sep 2015.

Now I’ve started again.

I’d forgotten how far I went with it. Even photographing lettering, then vectoring it.

And don’t even get me started on this little bastard. Using old software (CS3 and CS4) is stupid. I am stupid. I use old software.

No idea how far this rabbit hole goes. I’ve got a shovel and a head torch. If I’m gone long, just wait longer.
