Life Drawing 19th March 2015

Had fun tonight, more brush pen and watercolour work. Slightly bigger at A4 size, more confident with stronger colours.

Its the final session of term next week, I’m in two minds whether to carry on with the watercolours or try something completely different and do some animation, live, at life class…

Til next week…

Sending yourself mad with colour theory

Not sure I’m going to be able to finish this off. My brain hurts.

Colour-Theory

I’ve always found colour theory tough (probably why I avoided colour for so long…) so I thought I’d have a play and mix Process CMYK acrylic colour palettes and see what happens.

Life drawing starts again next week so I’ve been preparing a load of coloured canvasses recently. This colour study has given me some ideas on how to use colours. Will post a pic of the canvasses soon, interesting stuff to come.

The Green Room, Coldharbour

Now with added fire…

Have been working a little more on the Coldharbour pic. Added some more shadows and lighting:

I also rendered a quick greyscale version to check the tone. Its kinda nice, gives it that retro feel.

Really want to make this into an A1 painted behemoth now. Next steps will be to get a line version on to one of the big canvasses I bought ages ago.

Life Drawing 31-05-12

Had fun a Life Class tonight, really cut loose with the colour. Nice to try techniques that are much freer and more impressionist. No class next week as its half term and I’m away on hols after that, so colour craziness will have to wait for a while for the next explorimentation :D
